Hi, families! We had a great week! I will be out tomorrow, so please contact the office with any schedule/transportation changes.
I enjoyed reading with your kiddos 1:1 this week. We're going to have a lot of fun working towards our goals and becoming better readers this year! We started our reading, writing, and phonics curriculum this week, too! If your child forgot their homework packet to turn in on Friday, please make sure they bring it to school on Monday.
Next week is Homecoming Spirit Week! Monday is Twin Day. If your child would like to dress like me, I will be wearing a red shirt and jeans! :)
Important Dates:
*October 19--Q1 ends
*October 20--No School (Fall Break)
The complete HPS Calendar can be found HERE!
Spelling--List 2 (get, come, got, play, was, had)
Phonics--Professors of Phonics
Reading--Becoming a Big Kid Reader
Writing--Discovering Small Moments that Matter
Math--skip counting, number grids
Social Studies--Me On The MapScience--Maps of Landforms
Please don't forget:
We celebrate birthdays with non-edible treats in 2nd grade due to numerous allergies! Items like pencils, erasers, and small trinkets are great items for treats! I will still make sure we sing and make your child's day special. Thank you for your cooperation!
