Happy Thursday! Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow! Have a great long weekend!
⭐ We have earned 100 class points, which means we have earned a class reward! We'll be watching the cartoon version of the book Spookley the Square Pumpkin on Friday, October 25, in the afternoon. Students may also bring an extra snack to enjoy while we watch the movie.
We are having a BOO BREAKFAST for our Halloween Celebration the morning of October 31. Students may wear costumes to school, enjoy our Boo Breakfast, then change before morning recess. We will be doing other Halloween crafts and activities throughout the day, too! It should be a fun day!
A few reminders:
- We have a field trip on November 1 to the Howell Theater. We are going to see the movie version of the book we read earlier in the year, The Boxcar Children! Chaperones will be Mrs. Bott, Mr. Pedigo, and Mrs. Linhart! Students will not need a sack lunch. We will return to school before their regular lunchtime.
- October 27 is the Hutchings Trunk-or Treat! Our grade level is putting together a Squishmallow Basket to raffle off! All the money earned from raffle tickets will go to our classrooms! A raffle ticket will be put into the drawing on your child's behalf, if they bring in a donation! :)
- I am still looking for a parent representative to attend PTO meetings. Please let me know if you are willing to serve in this capacity!
- If you would like to volunteer in our classroom this year, please make sure you have filled out all the paperwork and have been cleared in the office before signing up! Here is the sign-up for Classroom Volunteers!
- Please note: We do not celebrate birthdays with edible treats in 2nd grade. You are welcome to send in a pencil, small toy, or trinket for your child to pass out, if you wish! We will make sure their day is special regardless! 🎉

Teacher Raffle Baskets
There are just a few more days to donate! Teachers are collecting donations for their raffle baskets. 100% of the proceeds will go directly into the classrooms. Please consider donating what you can to help your child's classroom.
Trunk or Treat
Candy donations are being accepted in the office! We are also in need of trunks to pass out candy. If you would like to decorate one, please sign up HERE. Not able to decorate a trunk but want to help? We could use a handful of volunteers to help at the event, that signup is HERE.
The Book Bus will be on site for the Trunk or Treat again this year! It was a hit with the kids last year and we are so excited that Mrs. Deurloo was able to coordinate it again this year. There will also be a $0.25 used book sale. Do you have extra books laying around? Donations of gently used books are currently being accepted for this sale. Funds raised will go toward OBOS and other special activities in the library.
Husky Hustle Mission Accomplished!
Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us reach our goal for the Husky Hustle Fundraiser! We are so excited to say we exceeded our goal and raised $22,292! Our total fundraising goal for this school year is $25,000, every dollar we raised on this fundraiser allows us to focus more on fun than on fundraising for the rest of the year!

Panda Express Fundraiser
This Monday, October 21st is our Panda Express Fundraiser, please see the information below. This event is all day and nationwide, which means family and friends from afar can participate! 28% of sales come back to the PTO to support school initiatives.
