Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (5/3)

Happy Friday! Baggie Gardens are coming home today! Your kiddos might want to put them on a window at home or plant their sprouts. I told them they can send updated pictures of their plants as they grow on Seesaw! Also, make sure to check your child's backpack for Original Works orders, if you ordered! If anything is missing, please email Mrs. Wildman (wildmanc@howellschools.com). Thank you!   

A few reminders:

• The book order deadline has been extended through the weekend. Please place orders by Sunday night, so I can submit our LAST order on Monday! Make sure to stock up on summer reading!
• You can still make a donation to the Hutchings Reading fundraiser here: https://hutchingsptoreadingfundraiser.cheddarup.com through May 10. Please share with friends and family! All the funds raised will support Hutchings kiddos! :)
• Please make sure your kiddos have a coat and/or sweatshirt at school when it's not over 50 degrees in the morning! Our classroom is often chilly and it's usually below 50 for morning for recess (9:30am). Students are expected to wear their coats outside if it is less than 50 degrees!
• Please log your reading minutes for AT HOME reading! I am reporting minutes read at school. There are individual and class prizes, so your kiddos are expected to be reading at BOTH home and school! See the updated standings HERE! Thank you for your support of this fundraiser!

We celebrate birthdays with non-edible treats in 2nd grade. Items like pencils, erasers, and small trinkets are great items for treats! I will still make sure we sing and make your child's day special. Thank you for your cooperation!
