Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (1/12)

Happy Friday and Happy New Year! We had a great week back! Ms. Bertolin, our student teacher, has jumped right in! She's an awesome addition to our classroom and the kids love her! 

Don't forget we do NOT have school on Monday, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday. Ask your kiddos what they learned about him this week! (Check Seesaw, too!) 

One Book One School has begun! Check out the chapters read by many Hutchings Teachers! Here's the OBOS Calendar, if you need it for reference. 

A few reminders:

• Market Day projects are due Monday, January 22. Info is coming home today! This is an at-home project. We will NOT have fluency/math/spelling HW next week, so students have plenty of time to work on their projects.
• Order your Yearbooks! They're $7 and the info is coming home today! The Yearbook ID Code is 12174924.
• If you are interested in sending in white lunch bags for a snowflake craft coming up, we still need one more set. I added them to our Classroom Amazon Wish List. We can also use individually wrapped snacks like goldfish. We're also running low on tissues and it's definitely sniffle season! Thank you for all your donations for our classroom. I appreciate you!!
• Please make sure your kiddos bring their snow gear when the weather is cold and snowy! They cannot play in the snow without snowpants and boots.
• Roo will be back to Hutchings before we know it!! 🐾 If you would like to purchase an item for Roo's return, please visit Roo's Amazon Wish List!

We celebrate birthdays with non-edible treats in 2nd grade. Items like pencils, erasers, and small trinkets are great items for treats! I will still make sure we sing and make your child's day special. Thank you for your cooperation!
