Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (9/27)

Hi, parents!!  I can't believe September is almost over!  This year is flying by!  Your kiddos earned a 100 point party already!!  I'm so proud of them!!  We ran out of time to talk about it today, but we will on Monday!

Reminders:  
  • Next week is Spirit Week (for HHS Homecoming week).  
    • Monday is Twin Day. Wear red shirt and jeans to twin with Mrs. Burch! 😉
    • Tuesday is Character Day.  
    • Wednesday is Class Color Day--2nd grade wears gold!  
    • Thursday is Hawaiian Day.  
    • Friday is Highlander Day! 💚💛
  • PTO is still looking for volunteers for the Color Run on Oct 4! To help, please email Randi at: randie.m.mealey@gmail.com.
  • If you would like to volunteer in our classroom, please see the sign up sheet for available slots! (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0e4eadaa2a1-mrs9)  **Make sure your volunteer background check paperwork has been turned in to the office.  That must be completed at least a week before you can volunteer in the classroom!
  • Please make sure you frequently check Seesaw so you're up to date with the latest happenings in our classroom!  If you need that information re-sent, please let me know!
  • Please make sure your child has a healthy nut/sesame free snack for our morning snack time.  (We do not have afternoon snack in 2nd grade.)  Many students are regularly taking snacks from the snack pantry instead of bringing their own snacks.  Also, please make sure their water bottles are spill-proof!  We've already had several spills.

Science: Matter Matters Lesson 5 (Hunting for Shapes)

October 4: Color Run (we run 1:20-1:40pm)
October 25: First quarter ends
October 31: 2nd grade BOO Breakfast! (details coming soon!)
November 1: Field Trip (permission slip coming home next week), Half Day (dismissal 12:05 pm)
November 7 & 14: Parent/Teacher Conferences (Click HERE for the Sign-up Sheet)
November 27-29:  Thanksgiving Break
