Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (3/19)

Happy Thursday! We had some fun visitors today! Two HHS football players visited and read to our class for March is Reading Month! Brandon and Connor did a great job and the kiddos loved having them!

Field Trip permission slips came home earlier this week for our Community Theater field trip to Seussical Jr. in April. Please send your child's permission slip and $10 as soon as possible, if you haven't already. We will do a random drawing for chaperones and chaperones will be announced after spring break.

Check out our Classroom Volunteer Sign-up for open volunteer slots! Please make sure to fill out the volunteer form and turn into the office before you volunteer. Thank you!!

Next Week:

  • Math: Unit 8: Geometry (2D and 3D shapes)
  • Social Studies: Scholastic News
  • Science: Ant observations, Matter (solid, liquid, gas)
  • CKLA Skills: Unit 5--/u/ and adjectives
  • CKLA Knowledge: Domain 7--Sounds and Stanzas (Poetry)

Upcoming Dates:

Please note:
  • We do not celebrate birthdays with edible treats in 2nd grade. You are welcome to send in a pencil or small trinket for your child to pass out if you would like, but I will make his/her day special regardless! Thank you for understanding!
  • Don't forget: students need a healthy snack and a secure water bottle at school each day! We're having an issue with tops that don't close tightly OR that pop open easily. Please check your child's water bottle to make sure it's easy for them to latch. Thank you!
