Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (5/16)

Happy Friday! I can't believe we only have 9 days left of second grade! Students are bringing home their baggie gardens today! We talked about how they needed sunlight and might even be ready to plant outside! They are excited to see what sunlight and dirt will do to help their seeds grow! 

Reminders:

• Field Day is Monday! Please make sure your child dresses for an afternoon of field day fun. Tennis shoes and water bottles are a MUST!!
• Thursday is our Walking Field Trip to Howell. Please make sure your child dresses for the weather and has good walking shoes! No flip flops, please! They will also need a disposable sack lunch! Each child will be ordering a small cone (vanilla, chocolate, or twist) at Dairy Queen after lunch, compliments of our awesome PTO! Please let me know if this is a problem. 
• Chaperones for the Howell Walking Field Trip on May 22 will be: Mrs. Pilarski, Mrs. Pietila, Mr. Traviglia, Mrs. Linhart (Sulek), Mrs. Hainstock, Mr. Peters, Mrs. Bott, Mrs. Kaptagay, Mrs. Adamski, and Mrs. Rosenthal. Please arrive at school by 8:50 to go over some things before heading Downtown.
• Chaperones for the Botanical Gardens Field Trip on May 27 will be: Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Adamski, Mrs. Rosenthal, Mrs. Kaptagay, Mrs. Bott, and Mrs. Pedigo. Please arrive at school by 8:50. Chaperones will ride the bus with us. We will return to school by 2pm.
• If your child has not returned his/her library book or paid to replace the lost/damaged books, please do so ASAP!!
• We will be previewing the book fair on Monday and shopping on Wednesday. Wednesday is the ONLY shopping day, so please make arrangements to send payment with your child that day. You can pay by cash, check, or ewallet.

Repeat reminders:

• Please note: We do not celebrate birthdays with edible treats in 2nd grade. You are welcome to send in a pencil, small toy, or trinket for your child to pass out, if you wish! We will make sure their day is special regardless! 🎉
