Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (10/27)

Happy Friday!! We had a great time at our Husky Hustle on Monday! The fundraising site is still open through the end of the month, and we're nearly to $15,000 as a school! Between now and October 31st, we're challenging EACH classroom to add $100 to their current total. Any classroom that does will get to PLAN GYM CLASS WITH MR ADAM for their class during the week of November 6th! If you are able to contribute, we would appreciate it!

The funds PTO is raising will help us with Field Trips, events like the Hustle and Trunk-or-Treat, and with our big Rock Wall goal, too!

Don't forget! Trunk or Treat is Sunday from 4-6pm! Rain or Shine! We have a few more spaces available if you'd like to make your Trunk part of the fun: Sign-Up Here! And don't forget--the Howell Book Bus will be at Hutchings for a Used Book Sale. Every book is just a quarter, and every quarter earned goes toward this year's One Book, One School! Here's all the information you'll need to participate!

Next week is a busy week!! There will be NO Spelling, Fluency, or Math homework next week!!
  • Tuesday: Halloween morning we will have a BOO BREAKFAST! Students my wear their costumes to school over their clothes for our Halloween Breakfast. They will take off costumes before recess. Please make sure they are school appropriate and do not have blood, weapons, or masks. We will do crafts and other fun Halloween activities throughout the day. Thank you for all your donations! It's going to be a fun day!
  • Wednesday is a Late Start Day! School will begin at 10:20am.
  • Thursday: Our second day of Fall Parent/Teacher conferences is November 2. I enjoyed meeting with so many families last night and look forward to meeting with the rest of you on Thursday.
  • Friday: Our first Field Trip is Friday, November 3. Our chaperones are Mr. Racine, Mrs. Shy, and Mrs. Schlittler-Gutting. If you have not sent in your permission slip or $10, please do so as soon as possible! I am still missing a few. Thank you!

On Tuesday, November 7, our community will vote on the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond Proposal. If approved, the bond proposal would provide $258 million for improvements to our district, with approximately $5.4 million for our school, while expecting to maintain the current tax rate of 5.5 mills. Please take a few minutes to visit https://bit.ly/3qK4TUq to learn about the upgrades Hutchings would see if the bond is approved.
