Smiles from 2nd grade!: Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (4/24)

We had so much fun at our Poetry Par-TEA today! Students enjoyed snacks and shared their poetry. We even learned the "proper" way to drink tea with our pinkies up! 😜 Thank you for all of your donations!!

We also enjoyed our games and stuffie class reward this afternoon! It was a fun Friday afternoon! Here are all the pics!

Our spring flower fundraiser is winding down. We've sold 87 pots/hanging baskets!! Our goal is 150 and we've got ONE WEEK LEFT to order!

We are once again partnering with the same wonderful local farm that provides our fall mums to offer beautiful spring flower pots and hanging baskets—just in time for Mother’s Day!

If you’re planning to purchase flowers for gifts for Mother's Day or to brighten your home this spring, we would greatly appreciate your support through our flower fundraiser. Every purchase helps our garden continue to grow and thrive!

As a culminating event to celebrate One Book, One School, we are so excited to have a carnival-themed Field Day! We will be participating in activities that go with Mr. Lemoncello's Very First Game and Piper Morgan Joins the Circus ALL day! This will be held on Wednesday, May 20th (Rain date is Thursday, May 21st).

In order to pull off this all-day event, we are looking for both donations and volunteers! There are still lots of opportunities to make a donation towards this event! Thank you in advance for any help your family can give to make this a success!

Check out our Classroom Volunteer Sign-up for open volunteer slots! Please make sure to fill out the volunteer form and turn into the office before you volunteer. Thank you!!
We do not celebrate birthdays with edible treats in 2nd grade. You are welcome to send in a pencil or small trinket for your child to pass out if you would like, but I will make his/her day special regardless! Thank you for understanding!
Don't forget: students need a healthy snack and a secure water bottle at school each day! We're having an issue with tops that don't close tightly OR that pop open easily. Please check your child's water bottle to make sure it's easy for them to latch. Thank you!

Our PTO helps make school special for our students and staff. Some of the things that PTO has supported/organized this year:

Holiday Shop

End of year event

Yearbooks for students and staff

Without a full PTO board and family involvement, some of these things may be at risk of cancellation next year. There are 2 PTO board positions available to fill for the 2026-2027 school year.
