We had a busy week! Our class earned a double reward! One for class points and one for our substitute smiley jar! They have voted to watch A Bug's Life, bring a pop/juice (not red, please), and have a pizza snack in the afternoon on Friday, March 6. (They will eat lunch as usual. Pizza will be for an afternoon snack.) Please send a $1 next week if your child would like pizza. 🍕
We started learning about the Iditarod in Alaska and made predictions about which musher will win!
We are also enjoying our CKLA readers and reading with our reading partners!
Check out our Classroom Volunteer Sign-up for open volunteer slots! Please make sure to fill out the volunteer form and turn into the office before you volunteer. Thank you!!
Next Week:
- Math: Unit 7--Whole Number Operations, Measurement & Data
- Social Studies/Science: Alaska Iditarod
- CKLA Skills: Unit 4 Skills, The Job Hunt reader
- CKLA Knowledge (Social Studies): Domain 6--A House Divided: The American Civil War
- March 30-April 3: No School, Spring Break 😎
- April 14: Field Trip To Sesussical Jr. (more info coming soon)
- We do not celebrate birthdays with edible treats in 2nd grade. You are welcome to send in a pencil or small trinket for your child to pass out if you would like, but I will make his/her day special regardless! Thank you for understanding!
- Don't forget: students need a healthy snack and a secure water bottle at school each day! We're having an issue with tops that don't close tightly OR that pop open easily. Please check your child's water bottle to make sure it's easy for them to latch. Thank you!
- If you would like to help in our classroom this year, please see our Classroom Volunteer Sign-up! Make sure to fill out the volunteer form and turn into the office BEFORE you volunteer! Please limit sign-ups to twice per month, so all parents have a chance. Spots will become available 60 days out, so make sure to check back if everything is currently filled.
