Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (10/31)--Happy Halloween!! 👻🎃

🎃 Happy Halloween! 👻

Thank you to everyone who sent items for our Halloween fun today! The kids had a great day! Have a blast Trick-or-treating tonight!

Buster the Bus visited Hutchings for Bus Safety earlier this week. We learned to stay out of the Danger Zone and what a bus evacuation looks like.

If you would like to help in our classroom this year, please see our Classroom Volunteer Sign-up! Make sure to fill out the volunteer form and turn into the office BEFORE you volunteer! Please limit sign-ups to twice per month, so all parents have a chance. Spots will become available 60 days out, so make sure to check back if everything is currently filled.

Next Week:
  • Math: Unit 3--More Fact Strategies *Test Thursday
  • Science: Seed Dispersal
  • Social Studies: Ellis Island Mini books
  • CKLA Skills: Unit 2--Vowel Sounds, Paragraph Writing
  • CKLA Knowledge: Domain 2--Greek Myths
Upcoming Dates:
  • November 4/5--Hearing Screening

Please note:
  • We do not celebrate birthdays with edible treats in 2nd grade. You are welcome to send in a pencil or small trinket for your child to pass out if you would like, but I will make his/her day special regardless! Thank you for understanding!
  • Don't forget: students need a healthy snack and a secure water bottle at school each day!

Halloween Line Dance Recap
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined us for our very first Line Dance Night, hosted by the amazing Mrs. Shultz!
We had a fantastic turnout and hope everyone had a wonderful time dancing and connecting with our school community. This event was not only a fun way to give back to our families—it also supported a great cause. Mrs. Shultz is raising funds for a digital piano and a new sound system to enhance our upcoming Spring concerts, and thanks to your generosity, we made great progress!

Here’s what we raised:
Concessions: $528 (split between PTO and Mrs. Shultz)
Raffle Tickets/Donations: $244 (directly to Mrs. Shultz)
Total for the Music Department: $508

If you weren’t able to attend but would still like to contribute, or if you missed the donation opportunity at the dance, you can donate directly using the link below: https://tinyurl.com/HEMusicSupport
We’re so grateful for your support and the energy you brought to the event! Thank you again for helping us make music magic happen!

Rollerama

3rd- 5th Grade: 7 - 9PM
Rollerama 6995 Grand River Rd Brighton MI 48114
Your family is welcome to stay the entire time if you have students in lower elementary, however, we wanted to give our littlest Huskies time on the floor without our older Huskies!

A portion of each entry fee will be donated back to benefit the Hutchings PTO initiatives. We hope to see you there!
