Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (3/17)

Happy Friday!! 😊

**We have earned a class reward! We're going to have ice cream sundaes and watch Balto on Friday, March 24. Please see the sign-up for items needed. Thank you!! Thank you to all the parents who have already signed up!

**March is Reading Month! We had two celebrity readers this week! Madison June from WHMI (and Vivenne's mom!) read to our 2nd graders on Thursday. Aiden, from the high school football team, read to our class today!

**We are encouraging lots of reading during March!! Make sure to log your child's minutes read at home on their read-a-thon page through the end of the month!

School code: 3139755

**It’s time to sign up for our Hutchings Checkers Tournament! Cost is $1. Sign-ups and $1 are due March 24, if you want to participate.

**Make sure to order a yearbook for your child! The information was sent home with their mail on Monday. If you need it again, the picture of the flyer is below. Only students who order a yearbook will receive one. Orders must be received by 4/10.

**SAVE THE DATE! Our 2nd grade music program is on Tuesday, April 11. Our class will perform at 5:30pm. Students need to be lined up by their lockers at 5:20pm.

Please don't forget:

I know the weather is wonky but if it's going to be cold, PLEASE make sure your child brings their winter gear each day they may need it, along with a change of shoes! Many kiddos are coming to school with only vests or sweatshirts--no coats!

We celebrate birthdays with non-edible treats in 2nd grade due to numerous allergies! Items like pencils, erasers, and small trinkets are great items for treats! I will still make sure we sing and make your child's day special. Thank you for your cooperation!
