Mrs. Burch's Weekly Update (12/16)

Hello, families!

We earned our classroom reward for bringing in over 200 cans for the canned food drive! We have also earned a class reward for earning our next 100 class points! We will celebrate both rewards with a holiday movie the afternoon of Wednesday, December 21! Students will vote on a holiday movie that's rated G to watch that day. They may also wear their PJ's to school that day and bring an extra snack/drink (no red drinks, please) to enjoy that afternoon during the movie!

If you would like to read a picture book to our class next week, please see the Holiday Zoom Readers sign-up sheet! I will send out specifics to those who sign up this weekend. We also still need a couple things for our Holiday Activites next week! :)

PLEASE make sure your child brings their winter gear each day, along with a change of shoes! Many kiddos are coming to school with only vests or sweatshirts--no coats! We need to make sure kiddos have gear to play outside in the winter. PLEASE remind them they need their gear. Some families find it helpful to leave a pair of snowpants and boots at school. Whatever works for your family is great!

Important Dates:

*December 22-January 3--No school, Holiday Break!
*January 16--No School, MLK Jr. Day

Don't forget:

We celebrate birthdays with non-edible treats in 2nd grade due to numerous allergies! Items like pencils, erasers, and small trinkets are great items for treats! I will still make sure we sing and make your child's day special. Thank you for your cooperation!
