Happy Friday! :)
On the spelling test today, I mixed up the blanks for test A, so I did not mark #5 incorrect. Just wanted to clarify! Sorry about that! :)
Information came home on Wednesday for our Howell Walking Field Trip, which is May 23rd. Please sign and return the permission slip with your $1 for ice cream as soon as possible. I will do a random drawing for chaperones next week. There are a lot of parents already interested and I apologize that I cannot take everyone! I wish I could! If you are selected to chaperone, I will send the background check and volunteer information home.
Students received their April Book Sponsor books today! They have loved receiving books each month this year! If you would like to support my classroom campaign to continue providing each student with free books (one last book in May and also for next year), please check out my Reading Rocks Scholastic Campaign! Thank you in advance for your support! There is nothing better than gifting a love for reading!! :)
We are still in need of individually wrapped snacks for our snack bin. Please remind your child to pack a healthy snack daily. There are quite a few students who never bring a snack, but take one from the bin every day. Thank you in advance for your donations!
Spelling is going to look a little different for the rest of the year. Starting Monday, we are going to focus on snap words and sentence structure for the remainder of the school year during spelling. Students should practice the words throughout the week (we will still send the paper copy lists home) and the test will be a sentence dictation test on Friday. Students will be expected to write the dictated sentences correctly. We will be looking for capitals and punctuation, in addition to the words being spelled correctly in the sentence. This will help prepare them for 3rd grade!
*Please note the date/time of our 2nd grade performance was incorrect on the original note. Our 2nd grade Fine Arts Festival is Thursday, May 12 @ 6pm!
